Final Fantasy VII announced for PS4 – Calm down, it’s only a port

by December 6, 2014 0 comments

Square-Enix has just announced Final Fantasy VII coming to the PS4 at their PlayStation Experience event. In somewhat disappointing news it seems to only be an upscaled port of the PC version.

FFVII on the PS4 will include trophies and is going to be released in Spring 2015.

Well….it’s not bad, but it’s not what I had in mind when it comes to Final Fantasy VII. I was seriously hoping for a sequel set after Dirge of Cerberus with all of the protagonists and the former villians who turned into allies since Advent Children(I’m talking about Rufus and the Turks, because ever since seeing Before Crisis, Crisis Core and Advent Children, I’ve never believed them to be true villians, only Rufus’s stupid senile old man, Hojo*Blegh, I hate him to the maximum*, Scarlet, Heidegger, Weiss, Nero and Hollander), returning and the mystery behind Genesis’ return finally solved, and maybe about Cloud being different since he was a child(not like Sephiroth, Genesis or Angeal, mind you, just born with a special ability, like how the Turks, Tifa, Vincent and Yuffie and even Zack were all born with special abilities). Maybe even make that mysterious Tviest from the Online prequel of Dirge of Cerberus as the main antagonist?

Oh well. I can only dream.

Just great…. It looks like all of my hopes are crushed for a new Final Fantasy VII game that’s a sequel to Dirge of Cerberus(The Compilation is the best FF series in history). Instead, they’ll just continue the Fabla whatever series based on Final Fantasy XIII(One of the worst FF games in history) and when 2017 comes, I stronlgy predict that they’ll say, “It’s confirmed that Square Enix cancelled sequels to the Compilation to make room for Type-0 series” or something like that, even though everyone knows what happens in the end of the original Type-0 game, thus, that doesn’t need sequels to expand the story-line, but Square Enix decides to make us FFVII fans more miserable.

I give up. They really left the series as a cliff-hanger, so that they can expect us to use our imaginations, which sucks.
