Other Things from the 1st Production Department Premier

Well, it certainly looks like Square-Enix was indeed holding back at TGS for this, as there is a veritable flood of tiny snippets and bigger trailers and the like. I’m going to make an attempt at consolidating some of this for you. I may not have all the sources as stuff is literally coming in from all over, but pictures and trailers are almost assuredly legitimate. I’ll stuff it all after the break.
For as long as it lasts, there is the Final Fantasy Versus XIII Trailer featuring plenty of gameplay.

This is the trailer for the Final Fantasy Type-0 we reported was registered a little while ago. It turns out that this is the new name for Final Fantasy Agito XIII as it has nothing to do with the Fabula Nova Crystallis. It will also apparently be released on two UMDs.

Lastly, Dissida 012. Apparently there is a (purportedly substantial) demo that you must purchase, but it comes with a code to unlock Aerith as an assist only character. Gilgamesh (FFV and others) and Prische (FFXI) have joined Chaos and Cosmos, respectively. The word is that Tidus is on the side of Chaos, interestingly. There has been no word on Cloud’s alignment, but his absence on the cover of the special edition soundtrack has led many to believe he may be in Septhiroth flunky mode.

…Was hoping for a tailed Kuja possibly with blonde hair like the other Genomes… Palette swap? Cop out… *grumble* *fangirl pout*
All the other alts are great, especially wedding dress Yuna! YAYS!!! *long happy dance* Exdeath’s face is EPIC! I want to see that face chew scenery. Fighter WoL! Amano Garland! YAY!!!
And Aerith as an assist in Prologus? Uber joy! She lives!…sort of…not really… Eh, whatever, she’s making an appearence! Hooray!
Maybe Cloud will be on Cosmos side in Prologus but then Sephiroth turns him into his puppet again? There was a really blurry shot of all the villains in the ending FMV of the trailer and what looked like Terra (a whitish or light blue small figure near Kefka) and Tidus (a brown skinned shirtless figure with black pants) were visible in the shot as was Kuja (white floating thing hovering at the top) but it was too hard to define them properly. I don’t know if Cloud was in that shot but if he was then it was behind Sephiroth and almost completely hidden from the camera. Still too early to tell. But the villains looked to have an almost equal headcount to the heroes in the FMV so we might get some new villains and manipulated Cosmos warriors in the next few weeks.

Cloud is behind Sephiroth lol. Look closely and you can him between Sephiroth and Garland. And notice that in the scene where Lightning and co are talking to Cosmos the only member of VII seen is Tifa…so it looks like we do indeed have puppet!Cloud to play with.
Damn it Square! Why do you keep trying to take my money! I’m BROKE!!! I’m trying to save up money and get a steady job post college and you’re not helping! Is anyone else tired of Square Enix sucking their wallets dry with their engrossing stories, prolific art style, amazing production values, and amazing gameplay, say AYE!(Then buy every single game and inevitable sequel and prequel that comes along because at this point we have no choice. You win this time Square Enix but next time… I’ll still buy it. WHY!?!?!? )
P.S. Why in the name of Davy Crocket’s Sweat Stained Buckskins do we now have an evil Tidus and Cloud when Kain and Kuja are on Cosmos’ side!?!?! WTF! Terra I get with the whole slave crown but why mister ‘dream summon’ and ‘spikey’? I’m hoping someone made a mistake here…

What of FFXIII’s other characters? Is Lightning alone in a new world fighting some Kain looking swordsman?! No helping Fang and Vanille?

I would assume Tidus is with Chaos just because it’s against Jecht, and maybe also because he doesn’t realize they are evil.
I would also assume that Cloud is on the Chaos side because he is once again being controlled by Sephiroth.
Maybe attacking Tifa is what snaps him out of it?
I’m thinking that is probably what will happen. Who who knows?
I still don’t like the idea of ‘puppet’ Cloud and the thought of Sephiroth committing sepoku because Cloud is no longer under his mind control is just weird. But it makes sense considering the context of the original Dissidia.
Evil Tidus is just plain stupid! You’re really gonna side with the bad guys because of a few daddy issues!? Look at friggin’ Squall. He’s an orphan and he’s got no grudges against Laguna. Granted not the best example but still… And one would think the flaming demon telling you to fight against the powers of order and harmony would be a dead giveaway that you may be on the wrong side. I’d say Tidus doesn’t care and just wants an excuse to beat on his dad. Which as I stated before, is stupid.
First of all, if Kain and especially Kuja are on Cosmos’ roster, when has Kuja ever been ‘good’? Seriously it was hinted at in Dissidia 1 but I still don’t see it. Did he repent or help Zidane in the original? And if Cloud is evil via mind control, who did Kain slap around to avoid the same fate? I know Terra and Cloud snap out of it but didn’t Kain have the same ‘Manchurian Candidate’ side story in his game?
I don’t mean to sound rude if I do. I humbly apologize and sincerely ask for forgiveness. But I’m far too dismayed with the recent developments of Dissidia’s plot…
Um, I’m not sure if this is right but Tidus seemed to have no clue who Yuna was in the trailer. Also Yuna was pleading with him and seemed to be saying something like ‘Please remember’ (my Japanese isn’t too good) and as much as Tidus hates his dad, he’d never turn against Yuna.
Also Tidus is always about doing the right thing. He instantly wants to help the summoner in danger because it’s someone who needs help. He wants to save the chocobos from the Chocobo Eater boss because ‘it’s the right thing’ which Auron comments on Jecht also doing, even though it got them into trouble. He hates bullies due to feeling that Jecht treated him that way and always tries to stand up against them (he does this with the Luca Goers, the Ronso and then helps the Al Bhed against the invading Guado) so he wouldn’t join Chaos willingly.
Tidus is not petty enough to support evil because of his Daddy Issues. He’s immature and can come across as whiney and unreasonable but he’s still a compassionate and considerate person. He was willing to sacrifice himself to save an entire world, if he’s with the villains then he’s not in the same mind as he was in X.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to rant. This is just my opinion of what they’re doing with Tidus. And if SE proves me wrong then I’m going to be the angriest fan of all. You’re right about SE sucking our wallets dry, they’ve been receiving 60% of my income for the past 5 years…
It’s not really ranting, I agree with you. It seems kinda petty of Tidus to do something like that. 🙁

They’re real, that’s Lightning wearing the Guardian Corps uniform, since her normal outfit isn’t quite in accordance with it. But its only an alternate, you don’t have to use it 🙂
Anyone besides me think that Lightning’s new costume in FFXIII-2 should be her 2nd or third alternate costume?
I could easily see Cloud rocking the Shinra Grunt Uniform, but if he wants to rock white boots, who am I to stop him.
Cloud needs a Shinra Grunt uniform. Epic FFVII & CC reference! Though the purple dress and pigtails is an acceptable second option (Dammit! Gotta stop being perverted!) Beating Sephy in the grunt uniform would be such a nostalgic high. Oh well, maybe next time.
Love Lightning’s new costume. A bit on the skimpy side but it’s nice to see her looking a little more feminine. Prefer it to the brown PSICOM corps uniform but I can see why they went for it. Dammit SE, I demand more feminine clothing regardless of which gender you assign it to! ‘And now we fight like men! And ladies! And men who dress like ladies!’
That Fighter Warrior of Light is AWESOME! Aerith?!? that’s cool. As for character alignments from X and on: DON’T CARE. Besides, how can people assume so much before even seeing the story behind it?? What, is the character that you thought so valiant suddenly not so perfect like you imagined anymore??? People and characters make “mistakes”; Get over it! You know nothing about the game’s actual storyline yet! freaking nerdy whiny people, I swear..
