Advent Children Complete surfaces on torrent sites

Advent Children Complete US boxart

For the last few days since the release of Advent Children Complete, random tidbits of information, scene changes and images have appeared in the ACC spoiler section of our forums. Since today, the movie has also appeared on various torrent sites, such as Tokyo Tokoshan. It’ll only be a matter of time before the movie will appear on other torrent sites and piracy channels.

UPDATE: The movie (as well as On the Way to a Smile: Episode Denzel) has also appeared on the popular torrentsite The Pirate Bay, whose owners were sentenced to a one-year prison sentence and 30 million krones (about 2.7 million euro) fine just yesterday. From the descriptions of the two, both seem to be Japanese language only without subs, but I can’t be sure about that with the ACC torrent.

A lot of people have already been able to watch the movie through importing the Blu-ray from Japan, and have shared their experiences on our forum. Coming up is a post that lists the various changes and new scenes in the movie – and there’s quite a lot of those.

The movie is still scheduled for an official release on June 2nd in the US, and June 10th in Europe. You can pre-order the US version of the movie – if you can work up the patience – in our shop.

UPDATE, April 19th: The .torrent from The Pirate Bay was removed just several hours after it was put on, for as of yet unknown reasons.

A new torrent has appeared on DaTorrents, a four-part BD rip weighing 4.8 GB which, according to the description, has the English dubs.

I dunno, lol. I’m gonna watch the movie first, then worry about such trivial things, :monster:.

Also, my download is at 25%. Not that I promote illegal downloading, off course, but a lack of a European release and a blu-ray player, as well as a TV that does it justice, forces my hand.

No, but you can make them up if you want to, :monster:. It took a day or so for the original AC to get subbed by fans, not sure how long it’ll take for ACC.

Just watched the movie without subs.
Will later watch with subs, then with english voices. Both when available of course.

Wow the Pirate Bay guys are going to prison? I thought that they couldn’t be touched due to being Swedish and Sweden not having any sort of piracy laws? Or as that changed? I watched a documentary on it once.

      Heh, yeah right… ^_^
Nah, Sweden has lots of copyright laws, even though they’re slightly different from those of countries like the USA, but for a while they were a bit unclear when it came to things like internet filesharing. Though now the authorities have gone over them and tried to cover up the loopholes.

      Shademp 18 April, 2009, 19:17

Indeed. Many are downloading by connecting to Russia now instead; thus moving around the legal issues. You can be in Sweden but download as though you are in Russia.

I won’t have to worry though; I never download Swedish material. So these new laws won’t bother me.

In most countries (as far as I know), downloading copyright protected materials isn’t illegal, actually. Uploading often is, but even that’s debatable.

Yeah, see http://torrentfreak.com/the-pirate-bay-trial-the-verdict-090417/ for some more info on that. I dunno why they were sentenced – 2/3rds of the charges against them were dropped very early on in the trial due to very shabby evidence. Some quotes:

“It appears that the court chose to not take any of the technical details into account and only judged based on intent. They find it clear that the intention of the defendants is to facilitate sharing of copyrighted works and based their verdict on this.”

i.e. ‘We don’t care if what you’re doing is technically legal, we think you mean to do something illegal, thus, sentenc’d’

Also, the amount of members of Sweden’s pirate party has increased by several thousands since the verdict, making it the fifth largest party in the country, =D.

I really don’t want to do this but I can’t wait anymore and I’m so broke I can’t buy a Blue-Ray player less along the DVD.
To the ones who have downloaded it already. Which one if the best option? o.o

I have updated the post with a – POSSIBLE, unverified – English rip on datorrent.com. It’s almost 5 GB in size though, so it could take a while to download, =D.

If I were you I’d go for it ! 😉 It has both English and Japanese sound that you can switch between !!! It was slow yesterday on account of 1 seed versus 1400 leeches (took about 12 hours) but should be ok by now… I was torn about buying this before, but now my mind’s made up… It’s fantastic – I’ll buy it !!! =)

Why is this website promoting piracy? This isn’t even news-worthy… but if it had to be made a news article, it didn’t have to advertise what websites it is available on o.O

Where are we promoting piracy, then? Where does the article say ‘you should get the pirated version’? It merely states the facts – ACC appears on torrent sites. What the reader does with that information is up to them and completely unrelated to the article.

Wtf are you talking about? There’s no promoting anything. And yeah, the fact ACC has already appeared on torrent sites is pretty damn news worthy, as is SE’s comment on piracy being cracked down upon. Let’s try and think before we leap on our soap boxes, hmm?

Oh don’t feed me that crock of shit. The newsworthy part is that it’s available. That’s it. You don’t need to go further. But you do. The unnewsworthy part is:

“UPDATE: The movie (as well as On the Way to a Smile: Episode Denzel) has also appeared on the popular torrentsite The Pirate Bay, whose owners were sentenced to a one-year prison sentence and 30 million krones (about 2.7 million euro) fine just yesterday. This is a giant red arrow to where people can find the torrents, and I don’t care if it’s there for “informational purposes,” you’re still pointing everyone where to go, giving some very suspicious specifics about the files, and we all know that everyone here has gone out and downloaded it by now, thanks to this website holding their hand. The forums don’t do a very good job about keeping it under wraps either, everyone seems to be freely talking about rips that they downloaded, but as long as nobody says where to get it, piracy is okay then.

Might as well suggest programs that are best to play “certain” MKV files, or codecs to install to play “CG movies”.. but oh wait, we don’t condone this, we’re just letting you know that everything is out there. I really thought this was a credible website.

BAAWWWW. Want some cheese for your soap box whine?

If you don’t like it then don’t post here. Sorry you feel that way, bub.

You’d have to be living under a rock to not know where people can find torrents, really. Just Google ‘Advent Children Complete Torrent’ and you’ll find three dozen sites with torrents for ACC and whatnot.

The fact that everyone’s downloaded the movie can mainly be blamed on Square for releasing the movie months later in the States, and even later in Europe and the rest of the world.

I can guarantee that the vast majority of the people that visit this site and that have downloaded the movie will buy the movie in stores – if it ever becomes available. We (TLS, that is) also offer the option to pre-order / purchase the movie through Amazon in our store.

Finally, nobody’s ever been charged or convicted for downloading a movie or any other media, ergo, it’s not a crime in the US or most other countries, thus, legal. As is playing movies using MKV or whatever you’re on about – in fact, there’s a thread on the forums that discusses that exact topic.

I could go on a further rant on how the movie industry at large is actively promoting piracy by having release dates spread months apart over the whole world or not having a proper legal movie download system that can compete with ‘illegal’ downloads, but I can’t’be arsed. In fact, I think I’ve got that rant somewhere else.

Finally, don’t rant at us, rant at TPB, Datorrents and the other sites linked to for offering the .torrent, then rant at all the other sites that reported or discussed this particular information. Finally, rant at Google and all other search engines that allow you to search for torrents.

People would’ve found torrents without us reporting about it anyways.

‘s only available in the Japanese iTunes store and whatnot, and importing it is ridiculously expensive.

It was only 600 yen, which is $6.07 US.
