Sephiroth heading to Mobius Final Fantasy

by February 3, 2017 0 comments

Continuing our coverage of Square Enix’s 30th anniversary event held in Japan earlier this week, we bring you news of Final Fantasy VII’s Sephiroth coming to Mobius Final Fantasy.

Mobius, previously known as Mevius Final Fantasy, is a free-to-play Final Fantasy game originally released for iOS and Android and since ported to Windows PCs with support for resolutions up to 4K (3840 x 2160) and frame rates up to 120 FPS. The English version of the PC release is due to launch on Steam on the 6th of February, a few days from now.

A short trailer depicting Sephiroth’s introduction to the game was shown at the 30th anniversary event. You can watch it below.

Also of interest to Final Fantasy VII fans is a special in-game event focused on the upcoming Remake. The event has launched already in Japan but will kick off on the 7th of February, one day after the game’s English release, in the rest of the world. One particularly notable thing about the event is that it is reported to use assets from the Remake itself, including Cloud’s character model and the Mako Reactor. This event has a trailer of its own, shown below, featuring “Beyond the Wasteland”, the piece of music from Advent Children’s soundtrack that was used in the VII Remake reveal trailer at E3 in 2015.

Has the VII Remake event or Sephiroth’s inclusion in the game tempted you to try Mobius Final Fantasy? What do you think of the Remake assets shown in the event trailer? Let us know on our forum or in the comments below.
