A New Piece of FFVII Merchandise Wafts Out of TGS 2009

by September 27, 2009 35 comments

Apparently Cloud Strife is continuing his foray into digital modeling and merchandising with the release of his new brand name cologne, “Cloud Strife.” The new cologne was showcased at Tokyo Gameshow 2009 in the Square Enix Merchandise booth. A bottle of the FFVII hero’s scent is going for 6,800 yen. No word for when it’ll be released over seas.

Because nothing says you’re SO CASH, than smelling like an JRPG hero from 1997! Although I am curious as to what this stuff would smell like…Thanks to Tennyo for bringing this.. rare gem of S-E news to our attention. Oh, and don’t worry female fans, the cologne is apparently unisex, so you can get in on Cloud’s sexy aura too. Glad to know Cloud’s still swinging both ways 12 years later.

It’s really just too bad that we can’t leak a cologne over a torrent. I think I’d totally download it out of curiosity.

What would Cloud Strife smell like, I wonder? 8D

how about sephiroth’s shampoo? 😀 i remembered in final fantasy: crisis core (PSP FFVII game), there’s this group called the silver elite (elite super fans of Sephiroth), and in this group they would send you mails and stuff about the hero-turned-destroyer-of-mankind. anyway, the first letter you would receive says something about his shampoo. anyway, it goes something like this, and i quote:

      “FIRST LETTER—

      The scent of silver winds

Dear members of the Silver Elite:
In this update, we present another piece of Sephiroth trivia–the secrets to his beautiful long hair.
The hair products he uses are of the highest grade, made and supplied by the Shinra Company.
He seems to use one whole bottle of both shampoo and conditioner every time he washes his hair.
They are scented with thirteen kinds of perfumes, including Rose and Vanilla.
Apparently, the scent in the air after Sephiroth tosses his hair changes daily!”

      and quote! XD

to cut the story short, if square ever did something as brilliant and as ridiculous as this.
      well, go figure! XD

WTF, seriously? Hmm, five years in a tank, a dead man’s old clothes, Jenova cells, Mako, Geostigma, and days on end riding a bike and fighting. Toss in solitude and a hint of self-loathing and that’s exactly what I want to smell like. SIGN ME UP.

ETA, unless this is the “Sexy Cologne” he wore to get into Don Corneo’s mansion. In which case, yeah, sign me the hell up for that, too. O_o

Fantastic!!! Ode cu Strife!!! Just what you need for that extra mile on a cosplay of Cloud, you have the look, the sword(s), the personality, and now, the scent. You may even forget you’re whoever you were. ^_^

Must now procure and wear. @_@

I wonder if it will be anything like Sephiroth’s shampoo is suppose to be like. It goes from rotting dead guy to sexy bitch to studly puppet to…something else.

    What’s next Sephiroth’s shampoo or Zack’s deodorant?

Smells like… Blood and gore of thousands of creatures reduced to giblets, sweat, shit and piss (did you ever see him go to the bathroom?), sex, hair spray, Mako, gasoline, and manflesh.

    I’ll pass, kthx :monster:.

    Cloud’s scent…. wow
I vote for Sephiroth’s shampoo next! Who wouldn’t want that (what looks to be very smooth hair) smooth silky hair!

But a warning….may case fan girls to attack without notice.
