by November 30, 2012 0 comments

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Final Fantasy series, Square Enix are releasing a new set of Ultimanias covering each main numbered Final Fantasy game up to and including Final Fantasy XIV.

Three in total are confirmed for release. The covers (above) indicate which titles will be contained in each book. The interesting new additions to the already vast collection of FF Ultimanias was first reported on Siliconera, who also provided the following information:

  • Volume 1: 336 pages long, covering Final Fantasy I – VI
  • Volume 2: 320 pages long, covering Final Fantasy VII – IX
  • Volume 3: 336 pages long, covering Final Fantasy X – XIV

It is currently unknown if the Ultimanias will contain any new information or will simply be a collection of cherrypicked sections from the previously released Ultimanias. Several members here at The Lifestream have mentioned an interest in purchasing Volume 2, so we’ll keep you updated if there’s any earth shattering news regarding the now infamous Love Triangle Debate!

I hope Volume I gets translated as well, or at least the FFIV section of it. IV is my favorite FF next to VII.
