Analysis: The Planet, Jenova, & Genesis after [ ν ] – εуλ 0010
by X-SOLDIER August 26, 2010 0 commentsWhen Jenova Cells are inserted into the host, the ones who have a successful reaction to them actually undergo a form of cellular mutation, and their cells change to accept the reaction, thus amplifying their abilities. Mako enhances this, likely because it’s a processed form of the Lifestream’s current that creates life, and this allows the cells to undergo adaptation more easily, similar to what they do when they’re forming. (Though intense/constant Mako exposure also causes monstrous mutations by turning humans into Makonoids, it’s likely that the process is measured by the state at which the subject’s eyes begin to glow). Since Sephiroth received this treatment while in the womb, he had a true development in adapting to the cells, rather than the mimicked development through Mako exposure on adult subjects, like Gillian. These experimentations produced the following results:
• J-Cells: Jenova’s original cellular matter.
– Regenerate seemingly any damage.
– Capable of completely mimicking any Life form.
– Triggers a Reunion of all cells for effective resurrection.
• G-Cells: Gillian’s mutated cells (strongest in Genesis).
– Subject to cellular degradation.
– Are able to create true Copies.
– Don’t appear to respond to, or trigger Reunion.
• S-Cells: Sephiroth’s mutated cells.
– Not subject to cellular degradation.
– Incapable of creating true Copies.
– Capable of triggering and responding to Reunion.
These cells also produce distinct physical characteristics on their primary hosts:
• Jenova’s Head (J-Cells): Slitted pupils, white hair, glowing left eye.
• Genesis’ Head (G-Cells): Normal pupils, normal hair, glowing left eye.
• Sephiroth’s Head (S-Cells): White hair, slitted pupils.
• Jenova’s Body (J-Cells): Small right wing, large left wing.
• Genesis’ Body (G-Cells): Large left wing.
• Sephiroth’s Body (S-Cells): Smaller right wing.
Due to the rivalry in ShinRa’s Science Department, and Hojo/Hollander/Gast’s unwillingness to share experimentation data or work together, these projects were never combined, each believing their own projects to be superior, and not pieces of a whole. However, when S & G cells combine, they seem to fuse the abilities of both, as seen when a G-Copy absorbs S Cells by ingesting Zack’s hair. The resulting reaction causes pure Lifestream, dark Lifestream (possibly Negative), and orange bubbles to begin to dissipate from the host. This reaction condenses before violently exploding energy outwards, completely transforming the subject, and leaving him in a crazed, feral state. Even in an inferior host like a G-Copy, the union of S & G Cells produces a subject that bears features with incredible similarity to Jenova, even more strongly than those of Sephiroth or Genesis.
The G-Copy grows three spider-like arms on both sides of their body, and mandibles on their face. It also gains a large dorsal wing, and two wing-like structures ending in hands, and clawed feet. Feather-like scales are also present on the host’s entire visible body. All unnatural limbs are now orange, blue, and grey – the colors of Jenova’s natural state. A similar mutated G-Copy is seen with heavier feathering, no face, and different coloration, though its origin isn’t as clearly defined, though it seems to be shifting towards a lighter coloration, like Jenova Synthesis.
The only other noteworthy Jenova experiment is the one that Hojo performs on himself, resulting in the monstrous deformity of Heretic Hojo that later refines to Lifeform Hojo. Lifeform Hojo bears a striking resemblance to Jenova Synthesis. Whether this was some last minute discovery of Hojo’s before the end, or nothing more than a freak accident is wholly unclear, though one thing is certain- Hojo’s physical capabilities are nothing unique, meaning that he’s far from the ideal subject for the Jenova Cell implantation, regardless of his potential discovery. As with the G-Copies, their smaller wing size, comparative weakness, and inferior mental stability as compared to Genesis is due to the capabilities of the human host being far inferior to those of Genesis. The fact that this union of S & G Cells is shown to work on a Genesis Copy suggests that a perfect synthesis could be formed with the original, and makes Genesis the ideal candidate.
“Curing his degradation was the Planet’s way of saying to him ‘Then complete it.’ … This event is connected to Genesis’ future actions.”
The Planet has selected Genesis for a greater purpose to help him regain his pride and complete the duty as a SOLDIER. Because of this, it chose to cure Genesis of his degradation, despite or perhaps because of the fact that he is one of the few beings on Gaia who is gifted with the powers of its mortal enemy.
Genesis’ abilities are clearly super human. He and Sephiroth have the capacity to endure a massive transformation. Genesis transforms with the “Gift of the Goddess” at the end of Crisis Core, and Sephiroth transforms into Bizarro Sephiroth before his final form. While both Hojo and Sephiroth have a secondary, refined form, Genesis does not. Instead, he reverts back to his human form. It is likely that Genesis’ body possesses the capabilities to merge S and G cells into something that may (almost) be a true copy of a J-Cell generated from his own cellular material’s continued mutation, a true Synthesis.
With the protection of the Planet, it’s also likely that his body would be able to completely avoid any degradation. The interesting point here is that Genesis is waiting to be used by the Planet, and has been sleeping under Midgar, and waiting to be awakened. With no Weapons, he is likely the Planet’s final defense against Jenova. If there can be a truly generated Jenova Copy, the main question is whether or not Genesis as a Jenova Copy could overcome the original, like Cloud does with Sephiroth, or if he would then fall under its control.
Due to Jenova’s nature, it’s likely that even with Genesis as a Jenova Copy, he wouldn’t be able to destroy her. Much like the Cetra, she would need to be contained. With Genesis’ ability to transform, it’s likely that he would be capable of absorbing all of Jenova’s cellular material on Gaia. The difficulty comes from containing or gathering her will from the Lifestream that may require the assistance of the Planet, or some other method. If this can be accomplished, the only task that remains is purging Jenova from Gaia.
Omega and Chaos have both been shown to be capable of almost, if not completely breaching Gaia’s atmosphere through their wings and the power of the Lifestream (high enough that Omega’s remains stay in orbit). With Genesis’ augmented abilities as a Synthesis Copy, combined with the Will of the Lifestream manifesting through him, to rid itself of Jenova, he should possess all of the energy and wings needed to permanently remove Jenova from the Planet. It’s appropriate that “Genesis” is the name of the final defense of the Planet that could restore life to normal on Gaia.
“Genesis still has much left to learn.”
Genesis has long been obsessed with the play LOVELESS, a wisp of Lifestream and a black feather are seen writing out the final verse at the end of Crisis Core. Genesis seems to have taken up the role of the Prisoner. The following uses information from the Interpretation of LOVELESS listed in the Final Fantasy wiki.
In Act II, “the Prisoner is saved by a woman of the opposing nation.” This matches the female entity of Minerva opposing Jenova & ShinRa, yet saving Genesis. “He begins a life of seclusion, but his guilt over not fulfilling his oath to his friends grows.” This matches with his abandonment of his “brothers” in Deepground, and everyone else.
Act III speaks of “the war sending the world towards destruction”, matching with the events of the “Jenova War” in Final Fantasy VII, Advent Children, and Dirge of Cerberus. “The Prisoner embarking an a new journey” matches Genesis’ departure from the caverns below Midgar. “Though no oath is shared between the lovers, in their heart, they know they will meet again.” This matches Genesis’ and the Planet’s wordless agreement from their meeting in Crisis Core.
In Act IV, “the Prisoner meets the friend who wandered. The wanderer is dying and the world is ending.” The Wanderer perfectly describes Sephiroth, wandering the Lifestream, and becoming weaker. The original text of the Wanderer’s words help sell this: My soul, corrupted by vengeance Hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey. “The wanderer knows that, in order to end it, one of them must die, and initiates a fight to the death.” With a complete merging of S & G Cells, either Sephiroth or Genesis must die. Of the two, Sephiroth seems like the aggressor, especially in his state of desperation. “The Prisoner is unable to kill his friend and allows himself to be killed.” Genesis allowing Sephiroth to win would allow Jenova full confidence to enact a complete Reunion, and gather all of her cells back together, both halves re-united, and the Synthesis complete.
Finally, in Act V, “The prisoner’s sacrifice was the gift of the goddess, and its realization saved the world.” Through Genesis sacrificing his life to allow a complete Reunion, the Planet should be able to utilize Genesis’ Synthesis to banish Jenova, bringing life back to Gaia. This perfectly describe Genesis in character, his role, and in the meaning of the word, and bringing an ending his story poetically:
Nothing shall forestall my return
To become the dew that quenches the land
To spare the sands, the seas, the skies
I offer thee this silent sacrifice”

Nice job with this, X. Very well thought out and written. 🙂
Thanks! It took me about most of my spare time during this week to put together, (not counting my forum draft version).
X
Ah, this is perfect. A lot is brought together and explained clearly here. Nice work! Makes me almost wish the story would continue. There’s a lot of possibility for a continued story line, but I’m afraid that would just kill it.
Thank you! After 4 years of waiting around without even a HINT of anything, I figured that I’d had enough time to mull things over that I’d get some conversation flowing about it again.
With the Compilation, a lot of the times it feels like all the gaps have been filled, and in some ways there’s not as much to talk about as there was with the ambiguity of FFVII’s ending, but I’m hoping that this will get some people interested in talking about all the things we enjoyed about the games.
X
This is my first comment on this site; but I wanted to say how wonderful it is that you’ve collated and interpreted all this info on Jenova and the S and G -cells,
I especially like your interpretation of Loveless and what will happen next with Genesis because it matches my own interpretation Though I’m not sure that the line;“He begins a life of seclusion, but his guilt over not fulfilling his oath to his friends grows.” Is in relation to Deepground; I thought it was still relating to Sephiroth and Angeal.
Also I’ve always thought of the first line; “When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end” As realating to Omega and Chaos?
What are your interpretations?
I’m glad you’re posting! You’re quite full of insight.
I think that his seculsion applies to Deepground, and his Oath to his friends is his commitment to his honor/duty as a SOLDIER that he looks to fulfil, which applies to the Tsviets and his fellow SOLDIERs Angeal, and Sephiroth.
The bit about Omega and Chaos is also directly in line with my interpretation.
X
Nice job, X!
That was interesting to read.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
X
Holy crap X, that was fantastic. Unfortunately, I’m also mad at you now because now I really want the conclusion to the Compilation who knows when Square’ll get around to it.
What’s strange is how it doesn’t seem like Square could have possibly thought ANY of this out, especially not anything relating to Dirge of Cerberus. But things (particularly Loveless) fits SO WELL, I have a hard time thinking how it happened…
But I’m fascinated now to see how Genesis becoming a Weapon to purge Jenova could bring him into conflict with Avalanche…(unless of course he takes the old Weapons approach of wiping out human life. But I don’t know why that would be necessary.)
I figured that if they wouldn’t do it, I had to talk about it, though I do wish to see the next title even more after getting into this.
I think that Genesis’ role in CC & DoC was carefully thought out and the quote I included shows that there is some groundwork intentionally laid out for his future as well. I have to think that it was at least partially thought out.
Because it didn’t directly apply to my article and would be complete speculation, I didn’t bring up the fact that Cloud would get dragged in because of a final Reunion fully purging Jenova would include him, since he’s technically an S Copy.
X
But aren’t his Jenova cells (or S-cells, whatever) gone?
Yeah, but he may still have some mutation.
But really- Can you imagine Sephiroth showing up without saying goodbye to Cloud? 😛
X
Or imagine if Cloud wasn’t the main hero of a final installation. I want an ensemble party full length JRPG, but I’d be okay with Cloud being part of that cast but only as important as the rest of them.
Hello.
This is absolutely one of the coolest articles here! Kudos!
Thanks! 😀
I’ve been hoping for the exact same scenario. I think it’d it’d be a fantastic end to the whole Jenova/Sephiroth threat. Great job!
Thanks! It’s cool to see other people with the same hopes/anticipations.
Impressive, truly impressive. Your theory that Genesis is part of a final WEAPON to get rid of Jenova really did convince me and your interpretation of LOVELESS seems to support this.
Though I don’t think that the reunion of Genesis’s (Gillian’s) and Sephiroth’s cells would unite all the remaining cells. Furthermore I don’t think that Sephiroth is in a weakening state, after all the negative lifestream strengthens him, although the healing of geostigma might have weakened the negative lifestream. But why should Genesis lose to him voluntarily? Maybe it is necessary so Sephiroth can exercise a true reunion with every single cell (since Genesis seems to lack this instinct).
But what exactly happened to the cells of Angeal and the other Soldiers?
If they dissolved into the lifestream despite being part of Jenova then Gaia (Minerva) could just kill Genesis, wait for Sephirtoh’s awakening and his reunion and then try to get rid of him.
Still, your theory is very convincing and the idea that Genesis is supposed to be a saviour is damn cool!!!
Thank you. I was actually very surprised by how much my ideas coincided with LOVELESS when I first started putting them together.
I think that Sephiroth is weaker after ACC than he’s been thus far in the Compilation. My theory as to his voluntary loss (though not very clearly outlined in the article as it’s somewhat overly speculative in my opinion) is that since the S Cells are capable of Reunion, but the G Cells don’t respond to them, the union/synthesis of both cells is needed to start a Reunion that will bring all the cells together. When Angeal and the other SOLDIER died, their cells should have broken down and returned to the lifestream, whereas the Jenova cells would (assuming they don’t break down like I mentioned) move to re-create Jenova via Reunion. Since this would take a long time for such small cellular matter, I assume that the Planet would assist this by using the Lifestream to carry them into one location, where Genesis is.
I also considered that Jenova – having been trapped by the Cetra before, may anticipate some sort of plan if she/it feels that it’s being manipulated into place. With Genesis’ motivations, and it’s ability to manipulate the hosts, there’s a possibility that he’d be found out. On top of that, there’s the fact that he helped to push Sephiroth over the edge when he meets with him at Nibelheim, and is somewhat responsible for this whole mess, and likely feels some guilt about it. With all that happened to his fellow SOLDIER with the desertion, Angeal and Zack, I don’t know if he could bring himself to kill Sephiroth. Also, if anyone would have a chance to breaking through to Sephiroth’s humanity (if any remains), it’s Genesis, since he truly understands Sephiroth, like no one else left on Gaia does, and he might even die to prove it. That fits with his motivation to his duty/honor as SOLDIER.
With Sephiroth having forcibly taken the Will of the Lifestream at the end of FF VII, and Genesis having met with that of the Planet, it’s likely that the Planet would be able to influence the Jenova Copy created by combining the two, since it would likely function like a real Jenova Copy, (like the Genesis copies do of him). Genesis loss would enforce Jenova’s confidence in fully gathering and restoring herself. That means that she’d be completely restored, and could be removed from Gaia without leaving pieces behind, by focusing the Will of the Planet into the Jenova Copy that’s containing her cells.
Likely if it became a game/book/film, there’d be a lot more to it than that, but that’s the basic idea. I’m glad you liked the idea. 😀
Whoa. This has to be one of the most insightful things I’ve ever read. I’ve never seen the events of Final Fantasy VII put into such context! Well done, really. It just makes so much SENSE! I just wish that someone at SE would read this.
😀 Many, MANY thanks. I’d be pretty pleased if someone from SE took a look at this too. 😉
Uh, I’m writing a fanfiction, and I want to be factually accurate with all my info, so I was wondering: are Jenova cells (specifically S cells) inheritable?
Like, if someone with S cells were to have a kid, would the S cells be present in the child?
Please and Thank you!!
I believe that this is how Angeal obtains his G Cells. Genesis has them injected when he is a fetus, but Angeal inherits his naturally from his mother, Gillian- the source of the G Cells. (I think that this is stated in the game, but I can’t find an official translation / source to site right now, but the Final Fantasy wiki lists it in the death section under Angeal).
It’s likely that mutant cells are directly inherited from a parent, though exactly how they’re passed on is up to a lot of genetic speculation, and the child’s ability to survive it. We’ve also only ever seen them being passed from a Mother to a Child during its gestation, though it’s not a confirmation that they couldn’t/wouldn’t be inherited from a Father, though it’s less likely.
The S Cells are interesting in that they don’t produce True Copies, so I don’t know if they transfer the same way to another genetic generation that the G Cells would, but I’d figure that you’re well within you’re realm of fan fiction accuracy and speculation there to extrapolate however you want to make your story. 😀
X
Thanks so much! This will help me a LOT. 😀
I was actually planning on having the Cells be from the father, but I guess that’ll still work out. XD
Thanks again!
I just love this article/analysis. Digging deep things like that from FF VII’s world is more than just cool. Though I’ve played the game since it appeared in Europe I found the analysis containing so much new information (the information which I didn’t understand as a child and then didn’t just specially pay attention until now the recent years) that asdgfh- I’m so happy.
Honestly, thank you for making the effort for collecting the information from those games and writing all that.
😀 Thank you! I still appreciate the little comments, and knowing that other people appreciate the attempt to look deep into the small details of the FF VII universe. It’s been a long labor of love through the series, since I first played it and later delved into it through the Compilation, since late 2003. I finally just decided to write my ideas and speculations down after numerous debates and such on the forums. Glad I could make something that you enjoy!
X
I hope… I REALLY HOPE that your interpretations mirror the choices Square will make for the future Compilation entry. These elements would be perfect for a game worthy of the FFVII name.
incredible, truly awesome, with the recent analysis of the mystery of Loveless and all, i’ve thought of conclusion between genesis and sephiroth, but your analysis is truly beyond my expectations . Well done.Plus it makes the character of Genesis so coool XXD
Kind of paradoxal how Loveless gave 2 interpretation (the one in crisis core, and the one you gave)
there is one thing that I didn’t clearly understand: How does the planet use Genesis to get rid of Jenova when he make the synthesis ?
Once Reunion is completed after the Synthesis, all of Jenova’s cellular material would be gathered together into one place, and no longer spread across the entire world. Once it’s all recombined, it would essentially be contained within Genesis. At that point, he would depart from the planet the same way that Omega WEAPON did and thus remove Jenova from the Planet, permanently curing it. He would also prevent Jenova from travelling to another world and destroying it by keeping it imprisoned within himself in space. Essentially he becomes a sacrifice to save the Planet.
Hopefully that makes a little bit more sense.
X
Great article, I hope that later compilation titles that come out do mirror this article in narrative. But I do have follow up question similar to Sephcloud’s: after the Synthesis how could we/you be sure that Genesis’s will would be able to control the Jenova Synthesis copy and not the will of Jenova/Sephiroth? Or would the Planet/Lifestream/Minerva aid Genesis in controlling the Jenova Synthesis copy or would it physically push/remove the Jenova Synthesis copy off the planet (if Genesis could not control it) similar to how it did to the Meteor?
Also one more question, I thought Omega and Chaos were still alive/not completely destroyed at the end of Dirge Of Cerebus, because Vincent said that Chaos and Omega had “returned to the Planet”. So does that not indicate that Chaos and Omega still exist (but are likely damaged and/or dormant)?
Even though I answered this on the forums, it’s probably a good idea to log it here as well.
It’s only mentioned briefly, but the struggle of Genesis/Sephiroth to take control over a pure Jenova re-Synthesis would be much like Cloud attempting to break free of Sephiroth’s control- I’m not sure if he can, but he does have several factors working for him. Not only does Genesis have the will and single-minded ambition to do so, The Planet itself kept him alive by curing his degredation, and also appeared to him as Minerva. If there is any being who could contain both the will of the Planet as well as the full genetic synthesis of Jenova, it’s Genesis.
As for Omega/Chaos, I don’t have a definitive answer, but I think of them much like the WEAPONS. They’re destroyed, and hypothetically the Planet could re-create them, but in its current state, I don’t think that the Planet has that option, because gathering the power to do so into one location is inherently dangerous, since that’s been exploited in the past, and it seems to injure it. That’s why gathering its energy around Genesis as a last shot resort to purge Jenova would be a worthwhile endeavour. Thus (as you mentioned on your reply in the forums) Vincent’s line, “Omega and Chaos returned to the Planet” is more along the lines of how when a organism dies on Gaia it “returns” to the Planet, rather than Vincent meaning that Omega/Chaos have literally gone into the Planet in a dormant state, thus explaining the presence of Omega’s corpse in the sky.

I really hope they make a sequel that goes right after Dirge of Cerberus.
And if they do, I’m guessing that will be the last sequel they’ll make that will FULLY complete the compilation of the Final Fantasy 7 series.
Seeing Genesis as either a villian or hero would be epic!!
I mean if they were to ever make a sequel, I’m guessing right after there done making FF13 Versus, a year later they’ll finally announce that there making a game that continues the story where Dirge of Cerberus left off.
And plus, Square-Enix did say they’ll possibly keep making more FF7 stuff until it’s 2017.
So let me put it this way, right now it’s 2011 and there still making FF13 Versus (which Nomura has said the game is unlikely to be released in 2011, so that could mean the game would be possibly finished and released in stores by late 2012).
Now when there done making FF13 Versus, I’m guessing about a year later in like 2013, Square-Enix will announce there’s a sequel being made that will continue after Dirge of Cerberus.
So maybe by 2015-2016 (or 2017) the game will be completed and finally put into stores.
Hey if any of you agree that they should make a sequel, please respond to this and tell me what you think. But if you dont agree, all right that’s fine, at least you have your own opinion.
(By the way, if you do agree, give me some of your ideas what they should put in the game)
It has passed some time since the last comment, but I really need to say this:
There are only three words to describe this: OH MY GOD!
I’ve been wanting to understand more of Final Fantasy 7 since I first played it, and I must say this is really brilliant. I just freezed at LOVELESS interpretation, it has passed some hours since I’ve read it and I’m still not over it, it just makes so much sence! I’ve always liked Genesis, somehow it seemed like there was more to him, especially after seeing DOC’s secret ending. I’m not very good at interpreting poems, I’ve tried to interpret LOVELESS and couldn’t do it, so I really need to thank you for doing this! It really saddens me the idea of Genesis dying, since he’s my favorite, but I think that’s what would make the FF story even better, if it makes me have this kind of feelings, it’s a good game.
Really, I’ve never seen anyone going as deep on this as you, I’m a fan now! I really hope SE would make the next game like this, it would be a masterpiece. Until they don’t release anything that has to do with FF7, I’ll just keep hoping.
Again, thank you for doing this!
P.S.: Sorry if there are any errors, I’m not english.
Thanks much for your enthuiastic response. I’m glad that you enjoyed reading this, and I’m especially happy to hear that you liked my interpritation of LOVELESS. I’m glad that after writing this during the summer that people are still finding it, and enjoying the theorizations that I put out.
X
No problem! 🙂
I would show it to my friends, but none of them actually care about Final Fantasy, and they only know the game because I talk about it, but they don’t show any enthusiasm… Oh well, their loss.
Those poor, deprived people. 😉

Ok so I really really liked this theory and makes me believe in a future for Final Fantasy VII. For a long time I had no hope and that they were sinking and running out of ideas, but if they used your theory it’d make me cry like I did at Aerith’s death (Except tears of happiness this time).
So here is the part i’m kind of confused about, if I understood the Synthesis part correctly it said that Genesis would sacrifice himself and all his cells would fuze with Sephiroth to create a full Jenova again. So would that mean that someone would have to finally defeat Jenova (*cough* Cloud and Co *cough*) or what else could that mean? Would Sephiroth still have some of his will and he would fight Cloud and Co, or would that mean that Sephiroth’s will would finally break down and he would form into Jenova? I think I read somewhere on a comment it said that Genesis would take all the Jenova cells and leave the planet finally ridding Gaia of the disturbance. But that can’t be true if Genesis sacrifices himself because he can’t kill Sephiroth. So i guess all i want to know is if they preform the Synthesis, will someone still have to defeat the outcome of it?
The idea is that Jenova would become whole, as a fusion of Jenova, Sephiroth, and Genesis. If there were a battle of some sorts, it may involve the struggle of whose will will be dominant, but that involves Genesis willingly sacrificing his own to trick Jenova into a full revival, and gathering all of her cells and lifeforce into one location. Then, the Planet is able to use its connection with Genesis to manipulate Jenova’s form like Omega and force the fused form to depart the planet – taking Jenova completely off of Gaia, and stranding her in space, preventing her from continuing to poison Gaia, as well as keeping her from travelling to another world to spread destruction.

i am creating a table-top rpg on The Compilation of Final Fantasy VII based on the d20 system and was wondering if i could use your theory as a possible future event in a sourcebook im currently making for it? I will obviously name you as the sole author and source of the theory.
Please go ahead. I’m a fan of d20, so if you have the opportunity, let me know where you’d be posting your sourcebook. 😉

This gets me curious about what significance, if any, that Cloud might have from the perspective of the Planet or Jenova or something else. Perhaps he’s just a wild card.
Cloud’s always been an interesting case. I always figured that the Planet loosely acknowledged him at the end of FFVII, when Sephiroth’s red Lifestream is guided into him, and only the green Lifestream exits him. I see Cloud vs. Sephiroth as being a necessary prerequisite to Genesis (as a vessel for the Planet) vs. Jenova.
X
I found this on Wiki:
In Final Fantasy X-2, Square Enix dropped hints of a connection between the Planet of Final Fantasy VII and Spira, as Shinra and Rin discuss the potential of the Farplane as an energy source, though Shinra states the technology to safely and successfully refine energy from the Farplane would not be developed for generations. This connection is confirmed in the Final Fantasy X-2 Ultimania guide, where Kazushige Nojima states that Rin would fund Shinra’s efforts to refine energy from the Farplane using the Vegnagun’s remains, but failed. His descendants, a thousand years later when space travel was developed, would travel to the Planet and found the Shinra Electric Power Company.
“Kazushige Nojima: ‘…After quitting the Gullwings, Shinra received enormous financial support from Rin, and began trying to use Vegnagun to siphon Mako Energy from the Farplane. But, he is unable to complete the system for utilizing this energy in his generation, and in the future, when traveling to distant planets becomes possible, the Shinra Company is founded on another world, or something like that……. That would happen about 1000 years after this story, I think.'” Final Fantasy X-2 Ultimania Interview with FFX-2 creators, Page 723. Final Fantasy Forums
The FF:X connection takes place BEFORE the start of FF:VII actually. Shinra’s relatives arrive on Gaia from Spira via space/airship. This is also where the Shera airship seen in AC/DoC is from (which is why it’s a FF:X-style ship).

I’m a ff7 geek so I figured I may be able to help with some of the questions you asked, well my own theories anyway, I use loveless to help with the theories. In loveless it says the arrow has left the bow of the goddess, I believe this refers to omega gathering the lifestream and going somewhere else. The gift of the goddess refers to holy and/or chaos. wings of light and dark = the planet and the cosmos. hero of dawn, healer of worlds = weapons. the part which goes “do you fly away now, to a wold that ahbors you and I” I believe means Jenova’s arrival on Gaia. The silent sacrifice = The sacrifice of the ancients/creta. I’ll stop there for now ^_^
Here’s how LOVELESS breaks down according to my theory (explained near the end).
The Prologue is the arrival of Jenova 2000 years ago Cetra.
Act I is the start of Crisis Core.
Act II ends with Crisis Core.
Act III takes place during the Jenova War.
Act IV is taking place during the end of AC, and during the start of my theory.
Act V is the conclusion of the Jenova conflict in FFVII with her banishment.
X
i want to know most about ff7. till yet i have watched animated clippings of ff7 crisis core. can u tell me how can i get more knowledge about ff7.
Well, there’s always Advent Children (Complete), which is a movie;
Dirge of Cerberus, which is a shooter game that takes place after Advent Children (you can probably find the clips on YouTube);
On the Way to a Smile, which are writings from the perspectives of other FFVII characters that you can find on this website (look on the right under Categories)
And of course, if you already haven’t seen them, the actual FFVII game (either playing it on PC or watching clips and walkthroughs also on YouTube) which will give you the storyline before Advent Children and after Crisis Core… probably best to start out with that if you haven’t already 😉
Hope this helps!
